Teaching Assistant

Salary range NJC Scale 1 £23,628-£24,012 (pro rata)

Permanent position. 30 hours per week, 38 weeks per year.

This position is initially for Year 4, although TAs work flexibly across the school according to pupils’ needs.

The successful candidate should:

Have previous experience of working in a school
Hold NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Care, Learning and Development
Have GCSE (or equivalent) English and maths at a minimum grade C
Have relevant experience of directly supporting children’s learning, encouraging pupils to interact with others, to engage in activities led by the teacher and to work independently
Be able to work as part of a team, building positive relationships with staff, pupils and parents
Have initiative and be prepared to take responsibility for individual children, small class groups and the whole class
