Personal Experience:

As a KS2 parent in 2010, the outstanding ethos and care provided by St Mary’s made me want to give something back to the school. When a vacancy arose for a Parent Governor, I was very pleased to stand for election. When my tenure as Parent Governor expired, I was appointed by the Diocese as a Foundation Governor and elected to the Chair in 2016.

Why I became a governor:

It has been immensely rewarding to be involved in St Mary’s community and to play a part in its Catholic life and strategic oversight. The dedication of the teachers is inspirational and it is wonderful to see how much care and expertise is applied to the education and welfare of our children.

School Connections and interests:

I have been a St Mary’s parent since 2006 and my wife Imelda is a Teaching Assistant at St Mary’s. My son finished Year 6 in 2013 and my daughter is currently in Year 5. We are parishioners of St Edmund’s.
